Halloween Greetings!!!

My daughter, Reilley, and I were driving out in the country last week when we spotted this country road lined with giant jack-o-lanterns. Someone had gone to a lot of trouble to carve these huge pumpkins, but if you look up at the top of the lane you will see that they were being well guarded!

We had a great time picking out seasonal decorations from this little colorful self-service shed!!!

TIMBER Part II

It was a very long day!

But then again, it was a very big tree!!

TIMBER!!!!

Last week, we had to have one of the gigantic Maples cut down on our property. Our 7.5 acres used to be mostly forrest until the home we now live in was built. Rules and regulations required that so many trees be left standing when they excavated. The problem with that, is that it completely changes the environment for these trees and they are not thriving. As it turned out, this tree was severely rotted in it’s center. We decided to be proactive before it either fell over on the house, my garden, or the fence. It took these guys all day and I spent lots of time shooting. I filled about 8 gigs of compact flash cards! It was a very strange day for weather, with most of the day being foggy and hazy with a few sun breaks here and there. That gave me an opportunity to do a lot of post processing just to be able to see what was going on…..so that explains a lot of the very grainy/dirty look of some of the shots! I kept telling the guy up in the tree that I thought that he was totally crazy! He just kept smiling and waving and sawing away!

Stay tuned for more images tomorrow!
