Finding Cattle In The Colorado Mountains!

I recently spent 3 days riding in the Colorado mountains with my sister, Ronna, her husband Jerry, nephew,Chad and his wife Michelle looking for cattle. We were joined by Duke, the dog, several horses and two of thier friends Galen and Melanie. It was an awesome experience! The weather was perfect and we spent the night in their small cabin. They run their cattle on a lease in the Wilderness Area, so no motor driven vehicles are allowed once you are in the Wilderness designated area.

This is a mixture of images from all days, 2 cameras and several photographers! The video is only around 2.5 minutes, but it took about 4 minutes to load over my DSL. So my advice is start it loading and go grab a cup of java or a glass of wine and then sit back and …… Enjoy!

By the way….you will need to have Quick Time7 or later installed in order to watch this movie. This link will take you a download site for QuickTime!

Arabian Filly

One of the places that Phlash and I herd sheep is Rocking Mountain Ranch. The owner, Tish, is involved in breeding Arabians in order to save the original Arabian bloodlines. She has some beautiful horses! This little filly and her mother were in a pen close to where I was herding the other day. She was quite curious and I could not resist grabbing my camera. The problem was that she was so curious that she kept nuzzling my camera! I ended up taking the photo from the other side of the gate!

Playing

I recently picked up Nik Color Efex Pro and have been playing around with it. I could not resist this play on one of my pictures of the Mennonite family! This one is called Paper Toner. By the way, we were counting the children in this family……6 girls and 1 boy! I bet that he leads an interesting life!!
